With Christmas around the corner, when Dustin asked us this question almost every parent needs to deal with, we said, "Hey, before we answer this, why not make this a livestream and give you the answers then..."
And here we are! And here is what Dustin asked:
We shouldn't be lying in general to anybody.
And we especially shouldn't be lying to our kids...
And we try to teach our kids not to lie...
Yet we bold-faced lie to our children about Santa Claus, and then countless lies after that about the North Pole, and the elves making toys, and the reindeer...
So it's not even just one lie...
It's a non-stop series of lies, one after the other!
So, how do we go about giving our children the joys and magic and excitement of Santa, and everything involved with Christmas, even though it's all a giant web of lies?
